Interior window cleaning is the inside of every window in your home, done by hand with a squeegee: the glass, plus a wipe of the frames and sills. It is added to an exterior clean, so both sides of the glass are done in one visit.
Done by hand with a squeegee
Outside, the water-fed pole does most of the work. Inside there is nowhere for water to go, so each window is done by hand.
The frame and sill are wiped with a wet cloth first. Then the glass is wet with a mop, scrubbed all over and squeegeed, with a cloth held at the end of the blade to catch the drips. Every edge gets a dry detailing cloth. Last, we check the glass from low down, moving side to side, because that is the angle where missed spots show up.
Small panes the squeegee will not fit, like French windows, are sprayed and wiped by hand with a microfibre cloth.
The edges matter most inside. You stand close to an inside window and look straight at it, so a line left along the frame is the first thing you see.
Working in your house
Shoes come off at the door, every time, even if you tell us not to worry.
The mop is wet from a squirt bottle instead of a bucket of water, so there is very little to spill. If anything does land on a floor, sill or chair, we stop and clean it up before carrying on.
We move what has to move to reach the glass and put it back where it was. Anything heavy or fragile, we would rather you moved yourself, or we work around it.
Before we start, we ask which door to use and whether any rooms should be left alone. Then you can get on with your day.
High panes inside
Glass over a stairwell, a void or a raked ceiling is harder to reach from inside. We count those panes separately when we quote, so tell us about them when you call.
Sills and tracks
Inside sills and frames are wiped as part of the job. They collect dust and dead insects, and clean glass above a grey sill does not look finished.
If the tracks need proper work, that is the deep track detail and we quote it separately.
Inside and out together
Clean glass on one side shows up every mark on the other. Cleaning only the outside can make the inside look worse than it did before, so most people have both done on the same visit.
